Loco booked saeed9/28/2023 ![]() ![]() So I sat at reception from 2am - 7am awake. However I was too scared to go to sleep in another country, without being monitored in a hospital and concerned incase I had another reaction which can happen with anaphylaxis up to 12hrs after consumption. I was with the doctor from around 9.45pm - 2am and then this is when the doctor stated I could go back to my room and call him at 4am and then go back to see him at 9am to be assessed. However the doctor stated they have everything they needed to help me so I tried to remain calm. This is when I really felt I was going to die, as the hospital was so far away and I wasn’t sure how a doctor in a hotel could save me. I spoke to the doctor on the phone explaining I have anaphylaxis and they came to me quickly and assessed me confirming I was in the initial stage of anaphylaxis. The receptionist stated it was 40 minutes to a hospital but they have a doctor on site who they would call. I then went to reception and stated I needed an ambulance as I think I’m experiencing an allergic reaction. As I knew our hotel was in the middle of nowhere, I instantly ran to my room to collect another x2 epi pens (I carry x2 epi pens in my bag at all times also so now I had x4). Within 5 minutes of starting to eat the main I felt the initial symptoms of an allergic reaction (but I hoped it wasn’t). I ate the starter and then it was around 20minutes until the main arrived. I ordered chicken Caesar salad for my starter and for main the Olio Pasta (sauce on menu stated chilli, olive oil, garlic and parsley). The waiter stated just no desserts were suitable. I then attended the restaurant for the 9pm booking and mentioned to the waiter my nut allergy. Just like the other two bookings I had previously with other restaurants at the hotel, the guest relation staff added a note to my booking online to state nut allergy. However, on my last night, I booked one of the restaurants (Italian) at the hotel with guest relations at reception. Overall apart from the below incident which ruined my experience, the hotel was pleasant for the price we paid. The Wi-Fi isn’t great (no access in our bedroom) and was intermittent around the pool area, it works best at the reception area. The hotel has a nice range of pools and a different form of entertainment in the evenings each night. Firstly, I would like to say all the staff I experienced throughout my stay (except the last encounter I will detail below), were friendly and helpful.
